2000 PINOT NOIR, NORTH COAST

‘A Wine Fit For Bacchus!’

This is the second year working with our new vineyard in Potter Valley, Mendocino. Used primarily for champagne production, the valley runs north-south in orientation and contributes up to 25% of the Ramspeck Pinot Noir blend.

We are finding that this vineyard adds a refined quality to our Napa Valley grapes. The cooler climate of Mendocino provides bright berry characters in aroma and flavor which complement the big blue and black fruit components of the Pinot from Napa.

By blending the two fruit sources, we tame this temperamental grape and gain better control of the year-to-year regional variables. Regulating these variables has allowed us to consistently produce an even greater quality Pinot each year.
