1996 ATLAS PEAK

PINOT NOIR

A Peak of Better Things to Come!

Four years now I have worked with this one and only vineyard of Pinot Noir on Atlas Peak. It consistently has out performed my other Pinot Noir vineyards with fruit quality and concentration every time.

The light crop from the '96 harvest left me wondering! How much and how good was it going to be? Well, the "how much" still remains a problem at only 500 cases. The "how good" shows now that the wine has truly blossomed with the extra time in bottle.

A broad bouquet of dried cherries, spices, minerals, earth and tobacco scents fill the glass. On the palate, dried cherries follow through with consistency, the mid-palate is enriched with ground cloves and spices followed by a long finish with firm tannins that will reveal their true value upon aging.
